Available Courses

The Theodore Payne Foundation Professional Education Portal offers regular courses in native plant horticulture in Southern California for landscape industry professionals. In addition to our flagship California Native Plant Landscaper Certification Program (CNPLC), we offer advanced courses covering specific aspects of native plant horticulture and associated topics.

In 2023, through the generous support of LADWP, we offered ten CNPLC courses (five in English and five in Spanish). These courses were offered free of charge to qualifying individuals. In addition, we partnered with the U.S. Green Building Council LA to offer four additional publicly enrolled cohorts (two in English and two in Spanish).

If you have not already, become a member and let us know of your interest in the course by filling out this form, which will add you to our mailing list for CNPLC course updates and advanced class and event offerings.

We appreciate your interest in our upcoming classes for 2024. Please be advised that the schedule for publicly available courses will be released once we have completed a thorough curriculum review, incorporating valuable feedback from both our students and instructors, and after securing the necessary funding. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to offer you the best educational experience possible.

If you are interested in a private cohort for an organization, please reach out to us at professional-ed@theodorepayne.org.
